What is a Social?
When the cool weather makes its debut and your Porsche is hibernating
in the garage, it's time to keep your spirits up by attending
our social gatherings. Need a night of dining, dancing, and best
of all, talking about the summer fun you had in your Porsche?
Our Holiday Dinner is the answer. This formal event is usually
held at a fancy restaurant or local country club. Dust off that
tuxedo and put on your dancing shoes!
Perhaps it's after the holidays and you've realized those expenses
have skyrocketed! Our Mid-Winter Party is just the thing. Why?
It's FREE! This is ARPCA's way of saying thanks to the membership
for their support. But wait folks, it gets better. This function
is held at a local Porsche facility. The fun begins with a catered
buffet, displayed cars for your viewing pleasure, and socializing
with party-goers from all over the region.
The All Member Dinner gives new members the opportunity to meet
the great folks from the Allegheny Region and win some very special
door prizes selected just for them. Find out who will be recognized
as “Enthusiast of the Year” and what lucky recipient will win
the coveted “Dixon Trophy” for their outstanding support and participation
with the Club. After an evening of dinner, door prizes and awards,
this will truly get you ready for the driving season.
During the driving season, make a point of attending the Pittsburgh
Vintage Grand Prix in Schenley Park. The Allegheny Region participates
in the European Car Show on Saturday with a catered tailgate party
and concourse on the greens. Watch race qualifying on Saturday
and enjoy the view of Schenley Park. Sunday kicks off with a Car
Show on Flagstaff Hill and some other surprises! Watch the races
and enjoy the city of Pittsburgh. The Allegheny Region has participated
in the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix for the last 10 years. All
proceeds benefit the Allegheny Valley School and The Autism Society
of Pittsburgh. To attend the Saturday & Sunday events with
the Allegheny Region PCA, complete the registration form and mail
it to ARPCA's Vintage Grand Prix liaison. For more details about
the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix schedule of events, log on to
their web site at www.pvgp.org.
Wind down the driving season by attending our Autumn Harvest
Dinner. You are guaranteed to enjoy fine food and great company.
Plus, find out who will be nominated as officers for the Allegheny
Region for the upcoming year. Who knows, it might be you!
For more information or if you are interested in helping with
any of the events, please contact the Social Chair.
